



ABOUT CHRIS
Christopher “Chris” Lanier is a lifelong Clarksville resident, small business owner, and proven community leader running to represent District 67 in the Tennessee House of Representatives. Raised in the Beachaven subdivision off Madison Street, Chris is a proud graduate of Clarksville-Montgomery County schools, attending Norman Smith Elementary School, Barksdale Elementary School, Richview Middle School, and Clarksville High School before earning a degree in Agriculture with a minor in Business from Austin Peay State University. His commitment to education was shaped early by his mother’s career as a CMCSS teacher and school counselor and continues today through his active service supporting local schools.

Chris has been married for 24 years to his wife Carrie, a first-grade teacher at Kirkwood Elementary. They have two children, Emily, a senior at Rossview High School, and Bowman, a fifth-grade student at Kirkwood Elementary. As a husband and father, Chris understands the priorities families share, including school safety, strong academics, student discipline, reliable transportation, and supporting and retaining great teachers.

For more than 26 years, Chris has owned and operated Lanier Lawn & Landscaping, LLC, building a trusted local business while investing back into the community. A graduate of Leadership Clarksville, Class of 2023, he has served as a Partner in Education with Rossview Elementary and Kirkwood Elementary. He is a past president and 18-year board member of the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville, helping provide more than 3,800 books to local third graders and supporting efforts that helped establish Explorers Landing and the Family Art Studio at the Customs House Museum.

Chris currently serves as Chairman of the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board and previously served as Vice-Chair. He earned the Tennessee School Boards Association’s Master School Board Member distinction, becoming the first in Tennessee to achieve the highest Level 5 certification within one year. With deep community roots and a record of results, Chris is committed to addressing parents’ top concerns, including school quality, student mental health, bullying, school safety, and substance abuse, while bringing practical leadership and strong local values to represent Clarksville in the Tennessee General Assembly.
